Commonplace blog: Story board

For my project, I am going to be interviewing two men's volleyball players. I want it to look like a radio show that was videoed because a radio show like the BBC does more than just talking. They also have their guests do little games while answering questions. I want the boys to have fun while they're talking to me about growing the game for boys' and men's volleyball, as well as talking to me about their time in high school versus their time in college. What are some major differences? Did they come from a place that had a lot of volleyball opportunities? Things like this. It will take me an hour to record everything so I can pick and choose what I put into the five minute video.

I want this to be super fun and I can't wait until they confirm times to meet.

I am a... Jedi Master?

While I’m honored that Buzzfeed thinks I’m a Jedi Master, I don’t think I am myself. Yes, I’m really good at Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and iMovie. But, that doesn’t mean anything when it comes to putting out content. Or maybe I’m secretly really good at it, but not have any idea that I am? This is where this gets tricky for me. I constantly ask myself, is this going to take well to my audience?  But then I think about my internship at WTHR where we had to please our audience, or “Jennifer” as we called them. MOTOR MVB Focal Topic

This semester, I get to be part of an immersive learning class that is working for MOTOR MVB. Now, what is MOTOR MVB and what is the mission?   MOTOR MVB expands education opportunities at college and universities so student-athletes can receive scholarships, compete on the court, get a college education, and grow as leaders. MOTOR stands for Making Opportunities & Transforming Our Reach and MVB stands for Men's Volleyball.  On this team, I am part of the branch that does everything at the collegiate level. In January, I went to Nashville and got to shoot and report on different teams, coaches, players, parents and even the event coordinator, Vinnie Lopes who is a Ball State alum! I want to help grow the game, but I also want to help show that volleyball isn't just  a female sport. Men can do it too and they're pretty dang good at it.  For this project, I want to help improve the photo layouts and dabble a little bit in the graphics portion. We have Facebook, Twitte
